Our cushion has two padded parts: the contoured main backrest and a smaller centre pad. The smaller pad is separate and held by an adjustment strap; it is not a bump stitched permanently into one position.

What the adjustment changes

Moving the pad changes where the smaller area of contact sits against your back. Begin with gentle contact and make modest changes. A higher or more prominent position is not automatically more supportive.

The adjustment does not change the dimensions of the main cushion, the chair’s seat height or its overall depth. If the chair feels crowded, moving the small pad may not resolve that larger fit problem.

What to measure

The cushion measures approximately 50 × 47 × 9 cm. Compare that with the chair’s usable backrest and consider the seat space left in front. Hard side wings, a narrow backrest and existing lumbar mechanisms may limit compatibility.

Inspect the chair from behind to check a suitable attachment route. Follow the furniture maker’s restrictions, keeping straps clear of moving parts. A cushion should not depend on being jammed between chair arms to remain in place.

Questions worth settling before purchase

  • Does the chair have enough clear backrest space?
  • Will extra thickness leave comfortable sitting room?
  • Can the cushion be attached securely as intended?
  • Does existing support already make another pad unnecessary?
  • Are delivery and returns arrangements suitable for you?
